Project Aim
D.H. Hill Jr. Library created a new concept for their library renovation as “The Experiential Library” that offers events and learning experiences. Relative Scale partnered with the library in creating an interactive exhibit space that could also transform into workshop and presentation spaces. This exhibit space is a touch-less interactive exhibit that gives students, facility, and staff the opportunity to see and showcase each other’s work. The works can be a single of a collection of digital works, physical works, or combination of physical and digital.
The space comprises of 4 projectors, mounted to the ceiling, pointed down at a group of 4 tables. Each group of tables creates a surface that is 120″ x 60″. In-line with the center tables is an Intel RealSense depth tracking camera. The system uses the cameras to know when people move their hands over designated areas of the projection to understand when a user wants to “tap” and learn more.
